Easter Plans

Yesterday we met with the man from the company who supplies and installs our screens and projectors. We are working to reposition our current projectors to make way for a large scrim that will hang across the stage. One of our challenges was to come up with a quality projector for the center. We had wanted to rent one to try it out and better determine what exactly we needed. No one wanted to rent to us for a reasonable price ( except for something over $2000 for a one time event). While talking to guy from the av company I asked again if he had one he could lend us. Much to my surprise he offered to call one of his suppliers and request a demo projector for us to try out. That was an answer to prayer. There are still a lot of things to do before Easter; reposition our current projectors, install new valance and tracking, scrim and position projectors. Hopefully things will come together and we will project one of the largest screens ever at High Street. Our prayer is that our invitations bring people in and then we will unleash the gospel as creatively as we can.

Hot Topics

In a planning meeting today we were discussing sermon series for the rest of the year. We are currently discussing doing a HOT TOPIC series in the month of June. I am writing to my blogging buddies - (thank you to those of you who welcomed me into your community) - to see if any of you have any suggestions for this 4 week series. More than talking among ourselves, it would be better to ask some of your friends who are outside of the church. It would be great to very specifically target subjects of interest that come from unchurched friends. Any feedback will be very much appreciated.

My Entry into the Bloggesphere

My good friend Mark Hillenburg came up with 100 reasons why it would be good for me to have a blog, so here we go.

My reluctance to enter this sphere has kind of been this idea that everyone is talking, but is anyone listening. I do not want to add unnecessary noise to the world. On the flip side, we are made for relationships and communication is that glue that makes relationships rich and meaningful. It is with the hope that good communication will enhance the quality of relationships.

One of my fears about blogging is that it will give me a whole new list of people I owe answers to.

For better or worse, and I am expecting the better, here we go.
